Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her real title Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. Her first single was released on the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she started to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012 following the release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014 she continued to release her music on the internet including her independently released single Bound. In the year 2015, she performed in Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat released on the 21st of July. J. Cole had her sing her songs to the Dreamville Team later that year as he wanted Rihanna to be able work with her on some references. She officially was signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. The singer appeared on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. She released Pho, her debut EP on October 21, 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed in her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening artist. In 2018, Ari Lennox performed on two tracks with EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, and Bas On Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on September 5. On November 9 she released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November 13, she released two more singles called No One or Pedigree. She appeared with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16, and then made the track available as a single by herself to the album she released her debut. In February the music video for this track debuted. The song has received more than three million YouTube views within a week. In December 2018 the singer was a part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
